The Web-Publishing Power of a Content Management System

Master your site.

Be your own webmaster. Not just overseeing a small handful of static pages, but building and shaping a real Internet presence. Creating and managing new information, adding online users, displaying revenue-generating advertisements, running surveys, building communities, and more. All without the time lag, the handover of control, and the expensive bill that come with an outside webmaster.

Wagaya's Drupal-based setup simplifies the dynamic, do-it-all website into an online presence you can manage.

"How do they do that?"

You've seen the cool web sites. Sites that let you post stories in a flash. Sites with built-in blogging. Events, calendars, and invitations. Automatic daily content and ancient archives. Comments, posts, reviews, polls, surveys, and more, by anonymous visitors or trusted registered users. Members-only premium content. Custom forums. Logs, graphs, and analytics. E-commerce and revenue-generating ads. And much more.

The technology is there for anyone to use, on battle-tested, open-source foundations. But it's not easy for the average person or organization to set up – or to navigate the workings even when it's already built. You put all control into a webmaster's hands (and pay dearly to do so), or you fall back on static web pages, looking at the other guys' dynamic sites and wondering "how do they do that?"

The Drupal CMS solution

Wagaya wants to make the difficult easy. We build sites on Drupal, an open-source content management system (CMS) leading the pack in power and flexibility. Actually, Drupal is more than a CMS. Some say it's better described as a content management platform, an infinitely-configurable base upon which you can build your own CMS and web publishing system. Whatever the technical terms, what Drupal means for you is a flexible base for blogs, corporate sites, online communities, e-shops, anything.

A Drupal-based site by Wagaya offers a modern, highly configurable web presence with just the features you asked for. (And more when you ask for them.) You're the administrator, but you don't need to have been a webmaster in a previous life; Wagaya sets up and customizes the site for you. We even add that precious item permanently AWOL from today's tech world: an easy-to-follow manual.

Wagaya delivers a turn-key set-up and walks you through the paces. You take it from there. Instead of waiting for (and paying) a webmaster, you add or delete articles, collaborate with users, create polls and events, run forums, do all that "difficult" stuff, because now you can. (Wagaya stays on call to help if needed, of course.)

Build your home online with Wagaya.

Founder

Wagaya Co. founder Timm Tuttle is a Tokyo-based native of the US with 20 years' experience living and working in Japan. He spent 10 years as the senior trade expert for the Japan office of the Washington State economic development agency, assisting hundreds of exporters in building business in Japan.

He began developing interactive, multilingual CMS-based websites as a business-building tool in that position, and from 2006 set up Wagaya to offer those same tools to clients.

What's a "Wagaya"?

Wagaya is a Japanese word for homemy home, our home, or one's home, as context dictates – with the same connotations of comfort and warmth found in the English word. For a business born in Tokyo that builds online homes for clients to move into and make their own, Wagaya is an ideal name.
